The Food Truck Project (5th Grade)

 In an exciting project, our 5th graders embarked on a journey to create their own food trucks! They developed unique business ideas, explored the importance of in the industry, and learned how color schemes can attract customers. This hands-on experience not only sparked creativity but also taught valuable lessons about entrepreneurship and branding.

The Identity Mug Project (5th Grade)

In an exciting art project, 5th graders designed personalized mugs that reflect their unique identities. Each student explored their interests, values, and cultures, using vibrant colors and creative designs to express who they are. The finished mugs not only served as a fun keepsake but also as a celebration of individuality within classroom community.

The Clay Vessel Project (6th Grade)

In a creative project, 6th graders designed and crafted their own clay vessels. They brainstormed ideas, learning techniques for molding and sculpting clay. The final pieces showcased their artistic flair and teamwork, resulting in a vibrant display creativity.

The Yearbook Cover Project (5th Grade)

In their last year at our school, 5th graders have the opportunity to design the schools yearbook cover. All designs are voted on by staff and the winning design is selected to be that year's cover.

All 5th graders create a design to be displayed on the back cover of the yearbook. This collaborative project is inclusive of all students and a representation of all of our students prior to leaving for middle school.

The Clay Paintbrush Project (4th Grade)

In an exciting student project, fourth graders channeled their creativity by designing, sketching, and crafting unique paintbrushes using clay. Each student began by brainstorming their and creating sketches that reflected their personal styles. They then molded their designs from clay, focusing on different shapes and sizes to create functional and artistic paint brushes.

The Glowing Project/s (All ages)

Students dive into a creative adventure, crafting art that glows in the dark. Using special materials, they transform canvases into vibrant experiences. The excitement is palpable as their creations light up the room, showcasing their imagination and skills.

The Wearable Art Project (K-1st Grade)

Students explored color mixing my making beads with Model Magic and created a pendant using clay and stampers. Each design was then colored and dipped in ink to make all of the design pop. When complete, students were able to wear their art!

The Mugs and Rugs Project (3rd & 4th Grade)

In this exciting project, students had the opportunity to unleash their creativity by making both a mug and a rug through the art of weaving. The process began with designing their unique mug patterns, focusing on colors and shapes that reflected their personalities. Once their designs were complete, they transitioned to their rugs, learning the techniques and skills needed to bring their visions to life.

The Starry Cityscapes Project (2nd Grade)

In this engaging project, students embarked on an artistic journey to explore Vincent van Gogh's iconic painting, "Starry Night." They delved into the history and techniques used by the master, a deeper appreciation for his unique style. Inspired by the swirling skies and vibrant, the students then transformed the essence of the painting into their own cityscape creations, blending familiar urban landscapes with the dreamy elements of Van Gogh's work. The result was a stunning showcase of creativity, demonstrating how art can bridge the past and present in innovative ways.

The Radial Weaving Project (3rd Grade)

Students will delve into the world of Wassily Kandinsky's abstract, exploring his use of color, shape, and emotion They will analyze his famous works and discuss how abstract art can convey feelings and. After gaining inspiration from Kandinsky's artistic style, students will channel their creativity by creating their own circle looms. Using vibrant yarns, they will weave unique patterns, combining their understanding of abstract art with hands-on crafting, resulting in beautiful textile pieces that reflect their individual artistic expressions.

The 6th Grade Legacy Project
 

This year, the 6th graders embarked on an exciting collaborative legacy project where they created stunning wings out of clay. Working together in small groups, each student contributed their unique ideas and skills to design and sculpt their own pair of wings, symbolizing creativity and teamwork. The project not only encouraged artistic expression but also fostered a sense of community among the students. Once completed, the vibrant clay wings were proudly displayed, showcasing the hard work and dedication of the entire class.

The Emphasis Zentangle Project (4th-5th Grade)

In this art project, students learned to create emphasis by highlighting focal points using techniques like contrasting colors and size variations. They then combined these concepts with zentangle patterns, resulting in a collection of artworks that showcased creativity and a strong understanding of emphasis.

The Abstract "Puzzle" Project (All Ages)

In this engaging project, students delved into the world of color theory, exploring primary, secondary, and complementary colors. After grasping these concepts, they used oil pastels to create vibrant, imaginative artworks. The twist came when they cut their pieces into puzzle shapes, challenging their to reassemble the colorful creations. This hands-on activity not only reinforced their understanding of color but also fostered problem-solving skills as they worked to piece their art back together.
